Play will be governed by the 2019 Rules of Golf of the United States Golf Association, and where applicable, by the following Local Rules, Conditions and Definitions. Appendix I refers to the Appendix of Local Rules; conditions of the competition in the 2012-2015 USGA Rules of Golf. Unless otherwise provided, penalty for breach of a Local Rule is: Stroke Play – Two Strokes.
Format: 4 person Scramble (1-6), Best Ball (7-12), Shamble (13-18).
Starting Times: 9am Shotgun
Tees: Men from White. Seniors(63+) from Gold. Women from Red.
Lie of the Ball: Scramble (club length), Best Ball (grip Length), Shamble (club length/grip length). All putts must be holed out. Casual Water- A ball may be lifted, cleaned, and dropped at nearest point of relief no closer to the pin.
Golf Balls: The ball the player uses shall be named on the current “List of Conforming Golf Balls” issued by the USGA.
Pace of Play: Please play ready golf and keep up with the group in front of you. Players will have a maximum of five minutes to search for a lost ball. You may be placed on “warning” for slow play. If after a reasonable time you have not caught up, you may be assessed a stroke penalty, and possibly every hole until you are caught up.
Embedded Ball Through the Green: A ball embedded in its own pitch-mark in the ground, may be lifted without penalty, cleaned and dropped, as near as possible to the spot where it lay but not nearer the hole.
Out of Bounds: Defined by inside points of white stakes, perimeter fence posts at ground level and white lines tying into white stakes. (Such stakes, fence posts and concrete bases of fence posts are NOT obstructions). Driving range between holes #10 & #18 is Out of Bounds. Swimming pool & outside tennis courts are Out of Bounds. Indoor tennis facility, parking lot & inside edge of walkway behind hole #9 tied into white stakes.
Water Hazards: All hazards will be played as lateral water hazards.
Ground Under Repair: Includes all areas enclosed in white lines (except drop zones). Fire ant hills, french drains and debris piled for removal are deemed to be ground under repair. Seams of newly sodded areas – for lie of ball or area of intended swing ONLY. All seams within the sodded area are considered to be the same seam.
Immovable Obstructions: All paths, roads, curbs and wires supporting trees are deemed to be immovable obstructions. White lined areas tying into roads or paths, and curbing or railroad ties adjacent to roads or paths, are extensions of the obstruction. Planters on holes #2 & #9 and green fenced gas well on hole #17 are played as immovable obstructions. Any irrigation box, man hole, bathroom, pump house or other man-made object not in a hazard or out of bounds is considered an immovable obstruction and normal relief should be taken.
Integral Parts of the Course: Retaining walls and railroad ties when located within water hazards or within and/or around bunkers are integral parts of the course.
Stones in Bunkers: Stones in bunkers are moveable obstructions. Rule 24-1 applies.
Inclement Weather: A suspension due to inclement weather shall be signaled by one prolonged horn blast. Players will be notified to resume play by two short horn blasts. If in doubt about a lost ball or ball out of bounds, play a provisional ball. If in doubt about a ruling, play a second ball and receive a ruling upon completion of play.
Scorecards: Please return your scorecard to the scoring area, located inside the clubhouse immediately following play. The competition is deemed to be closed when all scores have been posted on the official scoreboard and approved by the Committee.
Ties: All ties will be decided by a scorecard playoff, beginning on the #1 handicap hole going forward.
